Daddy's Girl...

I was in the kitchen making dessert for Easter lunch, and I decided I better check on Matt and Anna Lauren because it was much quiter than normal. When I came around the corner, this is what I found...so sweet! It is exhausting to have as much fun as we have been having the past couple days!

And if you are wondering, Anna Lauren is a "daddy's girl"...very seldom does she want her mommy!

Dying Easter Eggs...

Anna Lauren stirring the cups of dye to make sure all the tablets have dissolved so she can begin putting her eggs in the cups.

Before

Daddy and Anna Lauren dying our Easter eggs...

Anna Lauren was not interested in the "dipper"...she thought it was much more fun to use her hands to get the eggs out of the dye...who cares if her hands were six different colors!

The finished product...how pretty!

It Fits...It Fits...

The time has come once again for triathlon season, which Matt will kick off next weekend by doing the Mullet Man Triathlon in Orange Beach. I made the decision for Matt that he would not go to Orange Beach without a wetsuit because you just never know about the weather in April. He was not too thrilled with my decision but decided he did not have a choice because I was "serious" about this decision.

When he called to rent a wetsuit, the lady said all I can do is send you the biggest one I have, but I am not making any promises it will fit. As we all know, Matt does not have the "typical" figure for a triathlete, but he is not afraid to put his spandax on and swim, bike, and run with the best of them...and oh how I love him for this...and better yet...it always comes with a smile on his face because he is always having the time of his life...he just loves it!

Long story short, this has just become a funny joke at our house...Matt wearing a wetsuit! So today, we headed out with our good friend, Eugene for a wetsuit lesson / swim, and it went pretty well...a few good laughs but the wetsuit "fit" and went on / off much better than we ever expected.

Matt putting on the wetsuit for the 1st time...no lie...it was just like a lady putting on stockings.
Matt and Eugene all zipped up ready to go...

For some reason I just love this picture...they were trying to decide where they were going to swim...Eugene was so patient / helpful, and he wanted to make sure they had a good plan because we had no idea how Matt was going to react once he got in the water in the wetsuit.

Matt just being Matt...he was so proud he got himself in the wetsuit...I'm telling you, it was so funny because Matt was "Mr. Drama"...

When Anna Lauren heard we were going to Reunion for Daddy to swim, she immediately had to put her swimsuit on because she loves the water. However, it was way too cold for her to play in the water, but she did test her limits to find out for herself that the water was too cold.

Eugene coaching Matt as to how to come out of the suit. Matt was pleased with how well it went and he plans to swim one more time this week before jumping into the ocean next Saturday.

Easter Egg Hunt...

This morning we went to our church Easter Egg Hunt. Anna Lauren was real excited when we started then after she found several eggs, she wanted to stop and play with a ball. Then...we told her the eggs had candy in them so she was excited once again about hunting. It was a fun morning and a good opportunity to spend some time with some good friends of ours. Anna Lauren just loves other children so she always has a good time at school as well as church!

Mommy and Anna Lauren walking to the Easter Egg Hunt...she wanted to carry her basket all by herself. In case you don't know, she is a big girl these days!

Beginning the Easter Egg Hunt...no worries...I know her basket looks empty but this is only the beginning...she gets plenty of eggs / candy!

I love this picture...we were running to go get some more eggs! She loves to run, which you know makes mommy and daddy proud!

Look at her basket now...she figured out this Easter Egg Hunt thing!

L to R: Emmy, Rileigh, Ava, and Anna Lauren...they dug straight into their candy when they were done hunting eggs. Such precious little girls!

The Easter Bunny...

On the way home today, I just happened to glance over at Back Yard Burgers and there was the Easter Bunny! Anna Lauren got so excited and wanted to go see the Easter Bunny so we pulled into Back Yard Burgers to let her see the Easter Bunny, and I just happened to have the camera because we were on our way home for the zoo.

Now...like I said, she wanted to see the Easter Bunny! However, you can judge for yourself by looking at the below pictures as to what she really thought of the Easter Bunny.

On a funny note, we were driving down the road today, and we had the following conversation:
Mommy: Anna Lauren, what do you want the Easter Bunny to bring you?
Anna Lauren: Candy!
Wow...they learn at such a young age, don't they? It was just funny because we really have not even talked about the Easter Bunny, Easter basket, etc and she knows what to expect from the Easter Bunny. Hopefully he will bring her some candy so she will not be disappointed!

Family Day...

Since today is Good Friday, daycare was closed, and I was off work. And because Matt has the "best" job, he was able to take the day off to be with me and Anna Lauren. Once we realized we were all going to be off, we decided we would make it a family day...no extended family, no friends, just us! And what a great day just the three of us had together!

We started the day with a run...mommy and daddy were so excited because these days the running stroller is hit or miss with Anna Lauren. But she jumped in without one complaint this morning and enjoyed her waffle and syrup as we ran. Around our house, starting the day with a run always makes for a much better day!

Then...we went to the post office to get mommy and daddy passports...yippee...they are going on a cruise in June (without Anna Lauren)!

After nap time, we headed to the zoo for Anna Lauren's 1st trip to the zoo...she was not so sure about the animals...she is a little skiddish when it comes to animals. However, she loved the snow cone, elephant slide, and choo choo train!

Happy Birthday Spencer...

It is hard to belive but now our three little "babies" have all turned 2! Spencer is celebrating his 2nd birthday today...of course, we couldn't make the trip to celebrate with him, but we talked to him this morning and sent him our wishes.

We are not all together very often so this picture is dated some, but it is the most recent one I have of the three of them...Anna Lauren, Birthday Boy Spencer, and James (left to right). And yes, it was necessary for us to find "3" riding toys!

Spencer ~ we love you and hope you had a wonderful day celebrating your birthday!
