Izzo's...

When Moe's was in Jackson, Matt was a HUGE fan to say the least.  So...several months ago, he was thrilled to find out that we were getting an Izzo's, the same sort of restaurant as Moe's.  Then...he and his buddy, Jeremy Bounds also a huge Moe's fan, found out the first 5 people at their opening on Saturday would get free burritos for a year. 

 

Long story short, they camped out from 6:45 PM Friday to 11:00 AM Saturday and earned themselves a $400 gift card to Izzo's.  They were actually number 1 and 2 in line!

 

Me, Christy, and all the kids stayed at our house while they "camped out"...around 9ish we went to visit them before we put the kids to bed. 

This is how we left them...and yes, they were still smiling Saturday morning when we arrived with donuts.  If nothing else, there is some free food and a good story to tell!

Farm Breakfast...

Friday morning I got to help Anna Lauren's class with their farm breakfast.  They made their own butter, and a few moms cooked eggs, bacon, and toast in their classroom.  This was my first time to spend any time in her classroom...and wow...so much fun!  I think one of my favorite parts was to just put a face with all the many names she talks about everyday.

 

It was such a fun morning, and I look forward to helping with other special activities in the future.

After the breakfast, Ms. Wells let them pick three of their favorite songs...she said they could sing and dance all day and they do quite often to get rid of some energy.  They LOVED it!

Cooper's 2 Year Check-Up...

Today Cooper had his 2 year check-up.  Per Dr. Joe, he is a healthy, long, and lean little boy!

Weight ~ 26 pounds/4 ounces ~ 25th percentile

Length ~ 35 1/2 inches ~ 75th percentile

Head ~ 19 inches ~ 45ht percentile

I think it is safe to say, he is no longer our baby but our sweet little boy!

Report Card Day...

 



 

Today Anna Lauren received her very first report card...and...all that was on it was "S".  So, so proud of her!

 

She could get the following:

S ~ Satisfactory (able to complete the objective)

N ~ Needs Improving

U ~ Needs More Help (has not mastered the objective)

 

It is amazing what the little girl knows and continues to learn each day.  I told Matt tonight that kindergarten is a little more "intense" that I had expected, but we are enjoying each and every day of it and especially watching her mature and learn so, so much!

 

Now...let's see what the next 9 weeks has in store for us! 

School Pictures...

Today we got the proofs for Anna Lauren's school pictures. 

 

Needless to say, they provided a good laugh, and I don't think we'll be ordering any of them.  We'll have our blog to document her "kindergarten" pictures.

 

Even Anna Lauren was like, "Mommy, please just throw these away...let's not show anyone."  I just cannot believe they didn't even make her sit up straight...so, so funny!

 

Weekend with Daddy in Gulfport...



Anna Lauren was out of school this past Monday so Matt took off work and decided he and the kids would go to Gulfport Saturday through Monday and spend some time with Pop Pop and MeMe.   

 

Saturday and Sunday their was a festival at St. James Elementary school, and they went both days and played.  By looking at the pictures, I think it is safe to say the kids thought that was great fun!

 

Per Matt, Cooper said he wanted to ride a pony...BUT...when it came time to ride, he didn't think it was such a good idea.

Sunday afternoon they played at the beach...Matt said they both ended up swimming in their clothes.

When they got home, they were wasting some time at the park before Matt and Cooper had an appointment for hair cuts.  Needless to say, it was cooler in Jackson than Gulfport so Matt found a long sleeve shirt in Anna Lauren's suitcase and Cooper proudly wore it...even to his hair cut.  Yes, there was a BOY jacket in Cooper's suitcase, but hey, Daddy believes in being silly and having fun.  They were happy and smiling...I couldn't complain!

Behavior Challenge...





Ms. Wells, Anna Lauren's teacher, uses a color system for behavior...blue (good), green (warning), yellow (miss some of recess), and red (no recess).  Since school started, Anna Lauren has managed to get on green at least once each week.  Our rule at home for "green" is we discuss what she did...she does not get in trouble the first time since her teacher says green is only a warning.  If she does it again after being warned, then she will get in trouble.  She has not gotten on green more than once for the same thing...hopefully she is learning her lesson each time.

 

But...we know she is capable of staying on blue so we challenged her...if she stayed on blue two straight weeks, I would take her to get her nails done.  Well, she did it!  Therefore, she was rewarded for her good behavior Sunday afternoon, and she LOVED every minute of it.  Now...we've started a new 2 week challenge...she has chosen a special yogurt place to go to if she goes two straight weeks again.

 

 

So proud of her good behavior!

And let me just say...I LOVE the organization of her kindergarten teacher!  I mean this binder has everything in it...complete the protective sleeves (you know this THRILLS me)!

The "wild" nails are a little hard for me, but I try to let her choose...she has the rest of her life to be boring like her mother!
