Sam's Visit...

We told Sam bye in Orlando on Sunday, May 1st...she went back to Miami to take her last final, and we drove home.  Unfortunately, her exam schedule didn't go as we wanted...we were hoping she would be done with school and could ride home with us and just buy a one way plane ticket back. But since it didn't work as we had hoped, she took her final on Monday, and I worked...then I drove to New Orleans to pick her up for a two week visit in between her spring and summer term.

One happy "momma" to have her with us for two weeks!!!

At the end of every visit, I make her give me the pictures off her phone...oh the memories my kids will always cherish with her.  If you cannot tell, they LOVE her and have SO much fun when she is here with us.

Sam is so good about spending time with the kids and typically individually doing things they each like.  The mosaic shop happens to be a favorite of Anna Lauren and Sam...just one of the things they enjoy doing together.

They obviously needed donuts for a snack after the mosaic shop...

This particular day Cooper got to skip school and spend the whole day with Sam...this was the first picture she sent me.  Yes, boys will be boys.

I think they were at the pool by 9 AM...and yes, it was freezing cold.  Pretty sure Cooper couldn't convince Sam to get in and swim with him.

Headed to the Reservoir for a little afternoon fun...

Sam managed to fit on Anna Lauren's bike so they took bikes with them...

Like I said earlier, boys will be boys...

If only we knew what was going through his head sometimes...he has such an imagination...

One afternoon Cooper wanted to run with us...I'm always up for a run with anyone...my favorite!

Hmm...wonder what we are discussing?

Someone was SUPER happy when she got picked up early several afternoons...

Think Sam got to watch three baseball games...

We tried to take a family picture at church.  Elliot photo bombed and Emmy is behind Anna Lauren pulling her hair.  FAIL!

We had much better luck at lunch.  Happy Mother's Day to me...couldn't have been happier than to be with all of my most favorites!!!

I by no means am perfect at being mom, but I sure wouldn't trade it for the world.  Thankful God gave me these three blessings!

This is a little more "real life"...we are typically a hot mess!

After a nap, we went out for a group run/bike ride on the trail.  I could not have picked anything I had rather do on Mother's Day afternoon.

Just another baseball game...

This game was a little "redneck" because they played on the football field.  They were just trying to make up a game they had missed because of rain.  They are five...they don't care!

At 5, you slide into every base...Matt was confirming he was safe...ha ha!

Pretty sure it was just Cooper and Sam this night...think the rest of us had something else going on.

He may have even convinced Sam to swim this night...think she swam in her clothes so she wouldn't freeze to death.  The water was still so cold.

She did this just for Anna Lauren...however, we had to show her how to put it in her hair.  Pretty sure bows were never her thing.

Then there was lunch with my work friends...they always want to see Sam when she comes for a visit.

I sure do miss being able to take her to lunch...

On her last day, she picked the kids up early and took them for sno cones...

After Mexican for dinner, we went to play mini golf...trying to soak up every last minute we had with Sam.

Not the best picture, but here we are on our last night before Sam left...love my family and all the memories we make together.

Saturday we went to Cooper's baseball game, dropped the kids off at Nanna's, and then Matt and I took Sam to the New Orleans airport. We know without a doubt she is in the PT program she needs to be in but it is always sad to see her go.

Cheer Competition #7...Orlando

At 6 AM on Thursday, April 28th we loaded up the van and headed out on the 11 hour drive to Orlando for Anna Lauren's last cheer competition of the season.  Since it was going to be a quick trip to mostly just cheer, Cooper stayed at home with Nanna. Anna Lauren's friend, Josie, and her mom rode with us so they wouldn't have to travel alone.  The girls were GREAT travelers (probably helped they had each other) so the trip there and back was not bad at all.

We arrived on Thursday night, dropped Kristie and Josie off at their hotel, and then went to our hotel to meet Sam and go out to dinner. Yes, Sam met us in Orlando and spent the weekend with us!!!  She had her last final on Monday so she had to study some, but we were SO excited to have her there with us.

Two squads from our gym were competing in this particular competition so we met at the convention center to watch the other squad perform Friday morning.  There just happened to be a body building competition there too...

After some lunch, we went back to the convention center for this group of "fierce" girls to compete...

Day 1 of competition, and I just love this smile I get at the beginning of her routine.  She LOVES to compete!

They nailed their routine...we were so proud of them!  Could not have asked them to do any better...

And look who took a study break to come watch lil sis cheer?

Matt and Anna Lauren both used their birthday money to buy a ticket to Magic Kingdom Friday night.  Therefore, we rushed back to the hotel, they changed as fast as they could, and they were off.

Someone was pouting that she had to stay at the hotel and study. Not real sure she studied though...oops!  We went to dinner and then just came back and hung out at the hotel/talked until Matt and Anna Lauren got home around 1 AM.

When we went to Disney in December, we did not see this sign that we just thought you saw when you went to Disney.  So...Matt was excited to see it this time.

Josie and her mom went with Matt and Anna Lauren to Magic Kingdom...pretty sure they hung out some as well as did their own thing some.  Matt kind of wanted to spend some time with just Anna Lauren.

These two love an adventure and have so much fun together...

They had a "magical" night, and I am glad they got to go.  But shhh...Cooper doesn't know!

On Saturday morning we went and watched the other squad compete, went out to lunch, and then had a little time to relax in the hotel before Anna Lauren competed.  We missed our Cooper, but I did enjoy having a weekend with our two girls.

They went into day 2 of competition in second place, and we pretty much knew they would stay in second place.  However, they gave it their all and once again, had a great performance!

Sam took a study break on Saturday too to watch her...such a sweet big sis!

Having Sam 14 hours away is HARD so we love any opportunity we have to spend time with her even if it means Anna Lauren is cheering and she is studying.  We still found a way to make it fun and just enjoyed being together.

These girls (and guy) had such a great season this year!

As we thought...second place, but we will take it, and we were still proud!

Anna Lauren just finished her 3rd cheer season with Coach Katie...and let me just say, I will cry when there is no longer Coach Katie.  We love her!  Thankfully, as we head into our 4th year we once again have Coach Katie!

After the competition was over, Coach Katie invited them to her hotel to swim in their uniforms since they are getting new ones next year.

And just like that Anna Lauren's 4th cheer season is over...boy...time flies!

We had Chick-fil-A in the hotel for dinner and called it a night as we would get up and head out early Sunday morning.
