Yesterday was Cooper's 1st soccer game of the season...he has practiced twice and was so ready for the "real" game. He was all smiles and super excited about the game...until...it was time for the game to start. He then pulled what he did this past Spring...I'm going to sit here and watch my friends. Needless to say, Matt and I were frustrated...we didn't see this one coming because he seems to love it, and we thought we made it through that silliness last season.
Matt managed to get him out on the field for the pre-game chit chat and prayer with both teams...
And somehow Matt managed to get him to start the game...
And he did just this for two straight quarters...
If he and Dalton could learn to play together, they would be really good...instead...Cooper thinks only he should score the goals.
He did score two goals in the first half...he got the ball and kicked it all the way down the field this time.
At the end of the second quarter Dalton scored instead of him, and he got mad (he's got so much to learn). So...he didn't play the 3rd quarter...he pouted.
Matt got him back on the field the 4th quarter and he played really well and almost scored a couple goals. He seemed less upset about scoring the last quarter. Then...after the game, he refused to give the other team high 5s so he learned a hard lesson and had to go straight to the car rather than jump in the bounce house with everyone else. Hopefully he learned his lesson and next week will be better!
