Girls Trip ~ Day 3

Saturday we would reveal the BIG secret!!!  I have never been to New York and Anna Lauren has been begging to go to New York. Therefore, Sam and I talked about this little adventure for several months and decided we should do it since we were only 3.5 hours away. We woke Anna Lauren up around 6 AM on Saturday and told her she could just get in the car in her pajamas because we were going to ride for about an hour before eating breakfast at this really cool place. She didn't argue, got in the car, and fell back asleep for at least an hour.  She woke up and said, this place better be really good because I am starving.  Then she said, where are we going just as we were nearing a sign that said...New York City.  It was perfect timing, and we told her to read the sign. It took a minute to process and then she was beyond excited.  Again, so much fun to watch her excitement!!!

I'll be honest...I was a little nervous about us driving into the city. However, it was a piece of cake...we drove right into the city...not really even any traffic.

We parked in a parking garage just a few blocks from Times Square and just like that...we were in New York!!!

I know it sounds silly, but we must remember she is 9 years old...M&M World was the main reason she wanted to go to New York.  Lucky for her, it was just a short walk from the parking garage.  It was a busy corner but if you look close, you will see Sam and Anna Lauren under the M&Ms.

Can we say M&M overload???

And this one was super excited when she found the coffee flavored M&Ms...

Love these girls and especially love their smiles...

Anna Lauren personalized some M&Ms too...I was thankful she had her own money!!!

We didn't get enough at M&M World so we headed over to the Hershey's chocolate store across the street...

She personalized a wrapper for her Hershey's Bar..."New York City Girls Trip"...

Hanging out in Times Square...

We then made our way to Madison Square Garden...

Not every day do you get to eat lunch with the Empire State Building right behind you...

After lunch, we rode the subway to see the Statue of Liberty and the 9/11 Memorial...

We just saw the Statue of Liberty from a distance, but we can now say we have seen it, which is all we wanted to do.

Anna Lauren got picked from the crowd to participate in a street performance...

The show continued on and on and on with them essentially just begging for money so we eventually grabbed her and moved on...

The Freedom Tower...

The 9/11 Memorial...it was not what I expected.  The memorial is really so nice and well done.

By this time we were all getting a little tired, so we opted to take a bike tour through Central Park and let someone else do the work for us.  So glad we did this because it meant we got to see pretty much all of the park.  We would have never done that had we been walking.

Just our little tourist in Central Park...

You may recognize this from the show Friends...

We had the BEST girls trip, but from time to time, we would see things that sure did make us miss our boys.  Cooper would have never survived this trip but Matt would have loved it as much as us.

Waiting on our car...two tired girls!!!  But a day we will never forget...love all the memories I get to make with them!
