Cheer Competition #4...Tunica

We spent last weekend in Tunica for a two day competition...

Anna Lauren actually cross competed in Tunica...someone on Mini 1 couldn't be there so she learned the entire routine on Wednesday, the dance on Thursday, and performed Saturday/Sunday like she has been working on it the entire year.  I'm still not sure how she did it, but we were super proud of her.  Sydney has been doing Mini 1 and Anna Lauren's squad all year, but Anna Lauren was just doing it this one time.

Such an Anna Lauren face...no clue who she was even talking to...I guess just another little girl.

Here she goes...I was a little nervous...I just didn't want her to mess it up for the other little girls.

She was not digging this shoulder thing...the first time she practiced with them she said it hurt her neck so bad.

I had never really watched this squad before so I wasn't sure what to expect.  It is just different because it is level 1 and we are use to level 2.  But...they had a great performance and finished the day in 3rd place out of eight in their division.

And just like that, she switched gears to compete with her squad.

They had a zero deduction performance but still ended the day in 4th place out of 7 teams.

Up and at it early Sunday morning for day 2 of competition...

Once again, she competed with Mini 1, had a little break, awards, and then switched gears for her squad.  Mini 1 finished in 2nd place out of 8 teams...that is awesome considering their routine was not even together on Wednesday when Anna Lauren was trying to learn it for the competition.

I took some pictures, but they look just like Saturday's pictures so here are Matt's fun pictures from the weekend...not sure which ones are day 1 and which ones are day 2.

They were a little disappointed they didn't walk away with a Summit bid, but they had two days of zero deductions and moved from 4th to finish in 3rd place.  They have a lot to be proud of, but of course, making the routine harder and harder to see what they can do in a few weekends in New Orleans.
