Anna Lauren had her last regular season swim meet at River Hills on Monday night. City Meet is this coming Thursday and Saturday. Matt and I "think" you have to qualify on Thursday to swim on Saturday so we are pretty sure Thursday will wrap up summer swim for Anna Lauren. It has been a great experience for her, and we are hopeful it works out for her to do it again next summer. This week she didn't swim everyday because she went to Vacation Bible School, and she told me she had missed swim. That tells me she has enjoyed it this summer. All we wanted was for her to be able to try something different and have good/fun experience, which is exactly what has happened!
She started out with the 200 freestyle relay...
This was her first experience on blocks...look at that face...I'm pretty sure she thought she was something.
The girls on either side of her have been two of her coaches this summer...she LOVES teenagers and has loved them so much!
After the relay she did 50 freestyle...
If only you knew how bad this little brother wanted to get in the pool. He sat on the edge for a while hoping to get splashed...it played in his favor a few times when the bigger kids swam.
Ali has been Anna Lauren's buddy this summer. They met in gymnastics when they were 3/4 but neither of them seem to remember that...
Just trying to entertain himself...it is hot, it is long, and it is a little boring when your favorite swimmer is not swimming.
This smile is one of pure happiness...she was having so much fun!
Discussing the "capping" strategy...
For whatever reason, they were so tickled trying to get Anna Lauren's cap on her...
Watching sister...
She got in 25 backstroke before the meet got cancelled due to thunder and lightening...
Backstroke is her favorite...she was not disappointed the meet got cancelled and she didn't get to do the butterfly.
Looking forward to City Meet on Thursday...of course, we have no clue what to expect, but we are anxious to go see what it is all about and watch our favorite little swimmer!
