The day before we got off the ship, an announcement was made that we were on the last cruise for some time. All the ships were docking and not sailing again due to the corona virus. So we knew we were walking into a different world than we left, but we were not quite sure what that really meant at the time.
We use to love to go to Morning Call in City Park, but we are not upset it is now Cafe Du Monde. We could not drive out of New Orleans and not stop for some beignets.
A few minutes of climbing in the trees in City Park before heading back home...
From the time we left New Orleans until the time we got home, we were getting update after update. Schools closing, businesses closing, and the list goes on on on. And yes, this is really what the toilet paper aisle looked like at Wal-Mart in Brookhaven.
As soon as we got home I started unpacking and washing all the dirty clothes. The reality of coming back from vacation.
I actually was sick on Monday so I didn't return to work until Tuesday. I was allowed to go to my office, but Matt's work wouldn't allow him in the building for 14 days so he spent the two weeks after we got home working from home.
And now we are living in a totally different world that deserves a post all on its on. We are very thankful we actually got to go on a vacation and have a wonderful time together as a family. So many people right now are not getting to go and don't know if they ever will get to go on some of trips they were really looking forward to with their family.
