Celebration Saturday...

Yesterday we spent the day in Brookhaven celebrating birthdays. Nanna's is Monday, October 27th and Bentley's is Wednesday, October 29th so we all got together yesterday and celebrated with them.

We started off celebrating "6" with Bently at the skating rink...

Anna Lauren, Bently, and Breanne (Bently's other cousin)...

Anna Lauren photo bombing the boys picture...

William (Bently's other cousin), Cooper, and Ashton...

This was Anna Lauren's first time to skate...not sure I would say she was the "best", but she seemed to have fun, which is all that matters.

Now this little guy had himself a blast, and he thought he was the BEST skater.  Which...he was...they tightened his wheels so tight they didn't even move so he just ran around on the skates and thought he was skating.  He's so good, he's ready to go back!

Look at him...seriously, he was having the BEST time!

Dancing with Ashton...oh how he loves him some Ashton!

Anna Lauren spent a lot of time on the floor...but...she continued to smile!

Think these two had as much fun as the little ones...I also think it's probably safe to say they are a little sore today.

After Bently's party, we headed over to the park for a picnic lunch to celebrate "66" with Nanna...

Nanna laughing at Ashton singing his own version of Happy Birthday...he is such a funny kid and provides so many laughs!

Seriously...as good as it gets...geez!  Cooper was having no part of a picture, and we are missing Reid.  Reid was out of town this weekend for Forensics.

And it wouldn't be a birthday without a few presents...Cooper however, thought he needed to open all of them for Nanna.

We ended our day of family fun/birthday celebrating watching the MSU/Kentucky game at Nanna's house.  It was a fun day of celebrating with family!

Friday Night Fun...

Anna Lauren's babysitter from this past summer had a baby in September.  So as a little happy for she and her husband, we gave them a gift card for dinner and offered to babysit Davis so they could enjoy a little date.  We know...it's hard to live in a town with no grandparents.

The kids were so excited all week that Davis was coming to stay with us.  We rushed home from school and took quick baths to wash off the school germs and anxiously awaited on him to arrive. Cooper was so excited he waited outside on the front porch...

Cooper wasted no time before he had Davis in his lap...

Anna Lauren was cracking me up making funny faces at him...she thought he liked her faces!

Look at these cheeks...

After he left, Cooper said...Mommy, that was so fun!  We will babysit anytime, but as sweet as he was, no baby fever for this momma!

Matt missed out on the fun...he was officiating a high school football game tonight.  I did get a text that it was great game and so much fun!  He really has enjoyed officiating this year...so glad he decided to do it because there was some hesitation when making the decision.

NWR Homecoming Parade...

Last night we went to the NWR homecoming parade and had so much fun.  We went two years ago, but I don't remember it being as fun as it was last night...

We picked up Sydney to go with us and walking to our spot, we ran into Brelee, one of their cheer friends.

Once we got to our spot, we had a little time before the parade started.  This is the "norm" for Matt and Anna Lauren's cheer friends...and yes, they are lined up waiting their turn...not scared!

Candy from the Cougar...

Cooper waving as the floats went by...

And probably Cooper's favorite parts of the parade...giving the football players high fives!

These are two of my PVO friends...I do very very little for the school compared to these two.  We are blessed to be at a school with such hard working volunteers...

Our Highland Bluff Elementary float...Annie!

Just Crazy Sydney being crazy...and yes, Matt and I really do call her Crazy Sydney...she is something else to say the least!

Walking to the car and she falls...I tell her to sit there and let me take her picture...then we all start laughing!

There is NO reason for us to trick or treat...we got so much candy! Thanks to our friend, Emily, getting us a great spot at the very beginning of the parade!

Make-Up Soccer Game...

Tuesday night Cooper's soccer team had a make-up soccer game and it was the first time all four of his teammates showed up for a game. We only play 3 on 3 and sometimes 4 on 4 but it's just nice to have your entire team there for a game.

Well, we thought it was nice everyone was there until it was time to start the game...Cooper was the only one that went on the field to play.   For a minute, I thought it was going to be 1 to 4 but eventually 3 others decided to play.

Ready to start the game...

Nothing better than this "I scored a goal" smile...

After scoring, he ran down the field and jumped into his Daddy's arms...he has been so fun to watch!

This little kid is determined...he is going to do what it takes to score!

Could just eat him up...like I said, he has just been so much fun to watch!

If nothing else, he learned a very important lesson his very first game...he will not leave the field now until he has given the other team high fives, which is more important than anything else that happens on the field.  We want him to play hard and do his best...but most importantly, we want him to be a good sport!

Hard Day at the Soccer Field...

Once again, Cooper woke up this morning super excited about his soccer game.  So excited that he got himself dressed rather than waiting on me or Matt to help him get dressed...he was ready to go!

Speaking of getting himself dressed, he wore the same thing again this week...backwards cap and sunglasses...oh, and his watch!  He is so funny and loves him some extra "gear"...

Matt coached last week so Cooper wanted him to coach again this week...so he did...typically two parents are on the field assisting anyway.

Notice the little boy in front of Cooper...let's just say he gave Cooper a run for his money and Cooper did NOT like it at all. He would score every time he got the ball, and Cooper was playing his heart trying to keep him from scoring, but he was just really good. The other part of the problem was Cooper was the only one on his team that wanted to play...so...he basically played 3 on 1.  Let's just say it was a morning of "hard" lessons to learn...there are many people better than you as sad as it may be.

Bless his heart...he played and played, but he still cried every time that little boy scored, which was a lot.

At half time, he threw his hat and sunglasses off and took a quick break.  He came back on the field with just his hat and was ready to play again.  But yes, still cried every time the other little boy scored.

He only scored one goal in the first half, but he scored several in the second half thankfully.  I'm afraid he may be a little competitive...

Ending the game with a goal!  He left the field all smiles and said he had fun.  Whew...I sure didn't think he was having fun, and I wasn't loving teaching him that some kids are just better than him, but he still has to give it his all.  Anxious to see how things go at our make-up game Tuesday night...
