Gone Fishing...

Everyone pretty much knows and especially the kids that Matt is the "fun" parent, and I am the parent typically consumed by a "to do" list.  I try to not be that way but a huge part of it is just my personality, and we have all learned how to make it work for our family.  However, thankfully there is a "fun" parent that does lots of fun things with the kids...like take them fishing when they ask.

Tonight they headed to the reservoir to do a little fishing and Anna Lauren caught a fish shortly after they got there...

Cooper made a friend as he typically does and that new friend gave him a fish he caught...

And then Cooper caught his own fish...

They had the best time...Daddy's adventures NEVER disappoint!

Morning at the Ballpark...

It was a beautiful morning to be at the ballpark and watch our little man play baseball...

I did not even really get a picture of his first at bat...it happened so fast.  Pretty sure he hit the first pitch, and he hit it hard.  Was a great hit!!!

Getting ready for his second at bat, and I must say...there is something about a little boy in a baseball uniform...just precious!

So maybe this breaks my heart just a little...if you don't hit it after so many pitches, the tee comes out.  Look at him...he is devastated. He told me the night before that one of his friends told him he had to use the tee at his last game because he didn't try his best.  He got tears in his eyes and said, but mommy, I did try my best.  I was so hoping he would hit it both times today.

I mean devastated...he was still "pouting" when he got to first...

This is the first year of coach pitch, we know he will get better...just a little hard to convince him that he will get better when he wants to be the best right now.

Sliding in to home plate hopefully made it all better...

Orlando Showcase...

This past Wednesday night there was a showcase at the gym for the three squads headed to Orlando.  Two squads will compete at "The One" and our Senior 5 squad will be competing at "Worlds".

The Indian Queens will be with us at the "The One"...

Anna Lauren's squad, The Desperados...

These girls have put in many hours in this gym...lots of hard work, lots of sweat, and maybe even a tear or two.  But...their hard work has paid off, and they are rolling into Orlando with a full paid bid and plans to show up and show out!

I do love seeing this smile...

Got a few pictures but not the best lighting...

Our Senior team, who will actually be competing at "Worlds" this weekend...I could watch them all day.  They are truly amazing athletes...

This kids are going to big competitions and they have lots of pressure on them, but I hope they know we just want them to give it all they have and do their best.  We will always be proud of them!

Celebrating 38...

On April 14th, we celebrated Matt's 38th birthday.  It was a Thursday so pretty much just a normal day of school, work, practices, etc, but we tried to make it a little special for him.

It's just tradition at our house...you start your birthday off with a few balloons and donuts.

And of course there were sprinkles for the sprinkle loving birthday boy!

We don't make a huge deal out of the presents, but he did have a couple "happies" to open...

Or should we say a couple presents for Cooper to open...

So maybe Anna Lauren and I are tired of seeing him wear the same two t-shirts every weekend...we felt the need for another "weekend" shirt.  Let's see if he will actually wear it...

When we started talking about his birthday, Anna Lauren quickly said she was getting him a new lunchbox.  She was a little embarrassed of the worn out lunchbox he was carrying to work everyday. He doesn't care anything about being cool...so yes, he carries a lunchbox to work everyday.

Cooper's favorite part...

Anna Lauren and I bought re-lighting candles.  The boys thought that was great fun!

They blew and blew...

For lunch he picked Keifer's and my fun group of co-workers joined us for a little lunch "birthday party"...

Once Anna Lauren finished practice, we had dinner at Genghis Grill and called it a birthday.

We were all too full to eat cake when we got home so we enjoyed it the next day.

Always fun celebrating special days together as a family!!!

Can He Stay Little...

I am typically not emotional about my kids getting older...instead, I enjoy each phase of their lives.  But...lately I have been a little emotional about Cooper.  I absolutely LOVE the age he is right now...I want to just freeze him and keep him this age forever. I just know once he starts kindergarten, he is all of the sudden going to be grown.  That makes me a little sad...not sure why...maybe because I know he is my last one.

He fell asleep on the couch last Sunday night, and I got a "glimpse" of him still looking like my baby...such a sweet little boy!  I will "treasure" these sweet moments.  And honestly, no matter how old he gets, he will always be my baby boy!

Millsaps Softball...

We FINALLY made it to a Millsaps softball game last Saturday afternoon to watch two of our favorites (Sarah and Rayner) play.

Matt's parents were here for the weekend so we took two cars knowing they would likely be ready to come home before us.  Anna Lauren and I ended up in the car by ourselves and felt the need for a quick selfie...

This kid quickly made herself comfortable wearing Ms. Renee's hat and sitting in her chair...

Then she felt sorry for Katie, who had a terrible sunburn, and shared the hat.  Katie happens to be one of Anna Lauren's favorites so she would probably do anything Katie asked her to do.

This little guy loves the catchers and found a way to get Sarah to let him wear her stuff...

Worn out little boy...he played baseball that morning, and I am pretty sure NEVER stopped the four hours he was at the softball field.  It was a fun day, and we loved being outside enjoying the beautiful day!

Saturday Morning Baseball...

Last Saturday morning, we got to watch Cooper play a little baseball.  Nanna took him to his first game of the season so this was our first time to get to watch him play.  Pop Pop, MeMe, and Anna Lauren were all there to watch him too.

Go Blue Warriors...

He started out playing on the pitcher's mound...

His first at bat, he hit the ball...

He played a little first base...or should we say...he played in the dirt?  He was trying to get his baseball cap dirty.  I think his goal is to see how dirty he can get.

Getting ready for his second time to bat...

He had to hit off the tee this time, and he was so upset.  I was standing at first base taking pictures, and when he got to first base he crossed his arms, looked at me, and said...I am FRUSTRATED!!!  I asked him why, and he said because I had to hit off that tee.  Then he didn't want to leave the field...he wanted to stay and practice batting.  He will get it...just has to keep practicing!
