Snow Day #2...

School was closed again today so Matt and the kids enjoyed "Snow Day #2".  I had to miss out on the fun and go to work...boo!

Here is a recap of Snow Day #2...Matt took pictures with his phone all day so I could blog about their day.

Very little snow left this morning.  I was very careful on the way to work...there were still lots of patches of ice.  Do not think it got above freezing today but the roads were much better on the way home this afternoon.

It was hard to leave these three all warm and snuggled up in the bed...

Fake sleeping...

Anna Lauren got up long enough to give me a hug bye...

Shortly after I left the kids were begging their Daddy to take them outside to play.  Matt sent me this picture at work just to make me laugh...him and these sweat pants.  I mean like the old school kind of sweat pants.  He would wear them every day if I let him. Needless to say he pulled his "old school" clothes out of the closet and went outside to play with the kids.

They convinced their Daddy they REALLY needed to go to Chuck E Cheese's...and guess what, didn't take much convincing...he took them.  He's the BEST!

Matt said the horse was Cooper's favorite...

To be a Chuck E Cheese's sketch book, this turned out really good!

Matt said basketball was Anna Lauren's favorite...

Proud of their loot!  They called me leaving Chuck E Cheese's and Cooper got on the phone and said, "that fun Mommy"!

After they left Chuck E Cheese's, they ran several errands for me. While out and about running errands, they popped in Party City and played dress up.

I called on the way home and Anna Lauren told me they had the BEST day!  So thankful they have such a good Daddy!

I met them at Izzo's for dinner on my way home from work and then we came home to re-group because we are back to the normal routine tomorrow...school is open!

At 6:50 PM, I told Anna Lauren we were taking a bath and practicing spelling words at 7:30 PM.  Well, she didn't make it...by 7:15 PM, she was sound asleep.  That is what I call a GREAT day even if Mommy did have to work!

Snow Day #1...

Today was "Snow Day #1"...we get to do it all over again tomorrow...well, Matt and the kids at least.  I have to go to work...boo!

Got to love what Mississippi considers a snow day...if you look real hard, you can see the snow!

I kept them inside as long as I could...at 7:30 AM, they were bundled up and out the door.  For the first of many trips outside...I cannot tell you how many clothes/gloves they have been through today.

This little guy was so excited about the snow...but according to him, it is "no"...

Stomping through the snow...

This is what I saw when I looked out the window...this little guy is ALL boy and LOVES being outside...he doesn't care that it was FREEZING!

Trying to catch a snowflake...

So proud of her snowball...

She then decided it would be fun to smash the snowball on her face...

She ate a good bit of snow today...every time I looked she was licking it off of something.

It was a pretty morning for sure...the snow fell until almost lunch time.

Matt went into work for a little while...the governor didn't close state agencies until 9:30ish.  He stopped at Kroger on the way home and picked us up a surprise...sweet Daddy!

There was for sure lots of pajama wearing, long naps, and Ipad watching today...

Daddy and Cooper with their "cheese" smiles...

Anna Lauren begged and begged to make snow ice cream...so...we did!  I then had to make her try a bite, and she said she didn't like it...truth is I think she just wanted cookie cake.  Matt tried one bite, Cooper had none, and I had a BIG bowl...I thought it was super yum!

We'll see what tomorrow brings...probably cabin fever!

6 Months Later He Gets In Dentist Chair...

In the midst of cheer competitions, I've forgotten to blog about normal day to day activities...

Six months ago, Cooper had his first appointment at the dentist...he would have no part of it...would not get in the chair, would not let the dentist look at his teeth with me holding him, nothing.  Well, it is amazing what six months can do.  Anna Lauren went first and then big boy climbed right in the big chair!

You can tell he is a little unsure and nervous...but...he did it!

Being so BIG and BRAVE...

Both of my kids love this part...Ms. Missy squirts water in their mouth and they suck it out...she lets them hold the "sucker" which they think is so fun for some reason.

He's so proud of himself!

We did find out he has a tongue thrust or a reverse swallow pattern. When he swallows his tongue pushes against his front teeth, which is why they look like he still sucks a pacifier when he has not since he was around 16 months old.  We've got to get him evaluated and see what the next step is to work on correcting the issue.  You know...always something...but...it could for sure be something much worse...this is fixable!
