Round 2 of the Conference Tournament...

After a quick trip to Brookhaven to move Nanna (a post for another day), we ended the day at Millsaps to watch the Lady Majors in round 2 of the conference tournament.  Thankfully they didn't keep us on the edge of our seats today...they won by 18 points and will play in the championship game tomorrow at 1 PM.

Getting ready to get this game started...we of course love our Sam, but we really love all of these girls.  They are such a sweet, sweet group of girls and so fun on and off the court!

These two are ready and waiting...

Sam struggled yesterday just from being out of shape...she was still not "normal" of course, but she did so much better today.

They always have to get their "Major" lovin...

Like I said, we love Sam, but we really love watching all these girls play.  Miah (shooting) and Kala will still be around next year for us to watch...

Pretty sure she was not paying attention to coach during this time out...guess it was ok considering they were up 20 points.

After the game, they announced awards.  Sam got all conference honorable mention.  Considering she has missed most of the "conference" season, she was beyond excited, and we were so proud of her!

Kala, Sam, and Bev all got honorable mention all conference...

Velvet and Miah got 1st team all conference...

And these two right here walked away with player of the year and coach of the year...well deserved by both of them!

Couldn't be more proud of our "big" girl...

Cooper was having a serious conversation with Katie and Brittnei...the kid stops the girls as they come out of the locker room. Thankfully, they all stop and give him so much attention!

This girl is so humble...she shoved these awards in her backpack, and we made her take them out and take a picture.

Showing off their awards...these two are not going to know what to do when basketball season ends.  They have been together every step of the way for 4 years, and they love each other so much.

And then they wanted a "normal" best friend picture...

Velvet cracks me up...her new joke is can she be my adopted "black" baby?  Miah, Sam, and Velvet came to see me in my office the other day and when they left, Velvet called me and asked if she could be my adopted black baby?  And then, she asked again today...she's a mess!

And while Cooper is running around loving on all the girls, Anna Lauren is challenging Brittnei.  And as you can see, they have got an audience sitting around watching them while they wait for their dinner to be delivered.  We then gave hugs and sent the girls to dinner and film.  And now we anxiously await for the championship tomorrow afternoon...go Majors!

Round 1 of the Conference Tournament...

Today we worked and went to school only 1/2 a day...we were NOT going to miss round 1 of the conference tournament for the Lady Majors at 1 PM.

The stands were packed and the atmosphere was fun.  I love Mary's dad in the bottom right...he was celebrating something.  We have really enjoyed getting to know them this year!

And this kid...I cannot tell you how good it felt to see her step back on the court today.  It has been a LONG month of getting her to this point.  I could not have been happier for her or more proud. Matt and I joke, but she has really become like one of our own!

She looked like this ALOT...bless her heart...she has not lost any of her skills, but she is so out of shape.  Coach took her in and out because she just couldn't hang.

And there was lots of "hands on her hips" trying to catch her breath...

But when she was in, she went 115%...according to her, there is no other way...

And there was lots of this...this is their "sign" they need a break...

Meanwhile the little ones were loving the Major...

Like I said, 115%...

I've been waiting for weeks to see her sitting on the bench...and today, she was finally there!

It's guaranteed these two are going to have a good time!

At this point, Matt and I were laughing at her...she was so tired she kept moving from side to side trying to catch her breath.  We should not have been laughing considering she is two weeks out of surgery, but we couldn't help it...

And just like that, she came back and did an amazing job and walked away with 10 points.  Matt and I were so proud!

Cooper decided he would make friends with a player from another team...silly boy...the Lady Majors were not loving this and they were sure to tell him...ha ha!

She proved today she is ready...bring on game #2, which is tomorrow at 5 PM.  If they win that one, they will play in the championship game on Sunday.

I hate I cannot see their faces, but this is some sweet love right here...I promise you!

Never knew we could love another kid so much...she has proved us wrong, and we have all enjoyed having her be part of the family.

And then Cooper is off to making his rounds...after Sam, comes Kala...

Then Kim...

Then Mahalia and Miah...

Then Anna Lauren joins in on the action with Katie, Mary, and Sam...

And if you hang around long enough, you can get almost the whole team...what precious girls they are who love on our children so much!

And if you have to sit through another game before taking Sam to dinner, why not just take a nap?  Our kids for sure have an on/off switch, and he turned his off.  After a little rest, he was ready to go again...we took Sam to dinner before she had to be pack for film. We are all looking forward to game #2 tomorrow...go Majors!

Surprise Trip to Memphis...

Yesterday the Lady Majors played their last regular season game at Rhodes in Memphis.  For several weeks Matt and I said if Anna Lauren didn't have cheer, we would go to Memphis for the day and watch them play.  To our surprise, Anna Lauren did not have practice so we loaded up and headed to Memphis.  We didn't tell anyone because we REALLY wanted to surprise Sam.  And as hard as it was for me to keep my mouth shut, I did it and she was surprised and excited we were there!  And...we were so glad we were there and not watching at home...it was a game...they won by 1 point in overtime.

Team captains...Sam and Miah

Sam is getting closer and closer to playing again...she will begin practicing with the team Tuesday and plans to play Friday...we cannot wait to watch her play.

It was nice to get to watch her at least warm-up with the team...

We have gladly taken her in this year as part of our family and are so happy to be a part of her life.

This may just be one of my new favorite pictures...love, love, love every one of them!

My kids love all these girls, and we have thoroughly enjoyed being a part of their winning season this year!

We are so proud that they won their conference and will be hosting the conference tournament at Millsaps this weekend.  We cannot wait to cheer them on to the championship and watch our Sam back on the court doing what she loves the most!
