Lady Majors (Sam) Basketball...

In previous posts, I think I have mentioned we are big fans of the Lady Majors and especially Sam.  For whatever reason, God has placed Sam in our lives, and we have practically "adopted" her.  I am so thankful she will talk to me when she needs to talk to someone, feels comfortable in our house as if it is her own, and loves Anna Lauren and Cooper as if they are her siblings.

But what makes Sam even more interesting is that this is her senior year, and she has needed someone because she hasn't been dealt the best hand of cards.  Being a star on the team, and spending her senior year this way has been emotionally hard on her (and me).  In January she got a concussion, which she recovered from just fine. But on January 17th, things started going downhill.  Her knee started locking up on her during a game...she pushed through and spent the following week rehabbing the knee.  One week later on January 23rd, we were gladly in the stands cheering her on with hopes her knee was going to be just fine.

At this point, she (#2) is ready to start and by everything she had done the week leading up to the game, we just knew she was fine.

I don't know that I will ever meet anyone tougher or with more determination than this kid right here...

Within minutes of the game starting, her knee locked up and she fell to the floor.  At this point, she could put no weight on her left leg, which was way different than the weekend before when the knee first started bothering her.

And even though Sam is by far a favorite, Cooper says they are ALL his very best friends.  But...two happen to run a close race behind Sam...he LOVES him some Kala!

And...he loves him some Kim too!

This picture breaks my heart because you can see so much disappointment on Sam's face.  At half time, they realized she couldn't walk and Zarah put her on crutches.  She crutched back across the court for the second half and sat down on the bench and cried...and...I cried too...broke my heart!  This is her last season to do what she loves more than anything and in a flash, it was taken from her.

But in all the sadness and disappointment, this kid can put a smile on anyone's face.  Love him and love watching him share his "love" with all the Lady Majors, his very best friends!
