Ship Island...

We continued the annual tradition of spending the 4th of July weekend with Matt's family in Gulfport.  Typically we just hang out at Matt's parents house or the condo his aunt/uncle rent.  But...this year Anthony invited us to go with them to Ship Island so we accepted the invite without thinking twice...Matt and the kids are ALWAYS up for an adventure.  I'm so glad we did because it was such a fun day, and I'm not sure why it was our first time to go...we have been missing out!

On the ferry headed to Ship Island...it was about an hour ride.

Right when you get off the ferry...it was about a half mile walk to the actual beach area.

I was completely happy with this view, a chair, a umbrella, and a book...

The water was not the blue you think of when you go to the beach...but...it was crystal clear.  You could see all the way to the bottom...your toes, the fish, the crabs, everything.

This boy...the "water" is for sure one of his happy places!

Flying high...

Sister has gotten too big (sad face)...she now has to jump off Matt's shoulders rather than be thrown...

This picture is so Cooper...he is such a fun kid!

Wouldn't trade all these smiles for anything in the world...

They took a break from the beach to tour the fort...I however, was completely happy reading my book...I passed on that adventure.

We ate lunch at the little snack shop...I'll take this view for lunch any day.

After a day of beach fun, we headed back the ferry for our ride back.  This was the other side of the island.  Just as pretty but was mostly people who had driven their own boats to the island.

Matt and Anthony on the ride back...SO glad Anthony invited us to go with them!

Little man was worn out...as was the little boy behind us too!

This is what I call a good day!!!
