Celebrating "24"...

As sad as it is, it just doesn't work out for us to celebrate Sam's actual birthday with her...but...that doesn't mean we cannot celebrate her birthday another day.  Her birthday is actually today (January 14th), but we celebrated on the 6th while she was still here, and we could make it Sam's day as no one worked or had school.

We started the day with donuts...a birthday tradition at our house.

We even had a little snow (wait...I mean ice) on her birthday...

After a chill morning at home, she picked Mexican for lunch...

And then bowling, which is a family favorite...

By the time we got done bowling, we decided it was in our best interest to head on home.  Everything was pretty much icing over...we even had a little trouble getting up the driveway.

The kids had a great time sledding (well, boogie boarding) down the driveway...

And jumping on the trampoline until they were frozen...

The kids couldn't wait until after dinner so we had cupcakes late afternoon and sang happy birthday again to our favorite 24 year old!!!

They loved getting to celebrate with Sam...

We cooked dinner at home and then watched a movie.  Sam and Matt had plans to go play virtual golf, but the weather didn't play in their favor so a movie it was.  We had a great day celebrating Sam and are thankful for another year of having her a part of us!!!
