Last weekend was a busy weekend and for the most part, it was all about Cooper...he had Grandparent's Day at school on Friday, he had soccer on Saturday, and his birthday party on Sunday. Therefore, it was a good weekend for Pop Pop and MeMe to come visit and to get to be a part of all the fun.
Since Pop Pop and MeMe were here, we decided to go watch Matt referee at East Rankin. Kind of different to go to a football game and watch the referees rather than the football players...but...we did, and we had a great time.
This is only Matt's second year to referee and to his surprise, he has been on the field more than he expected. You start running the clock and work your way up. Now...he for sure is running the clock some, but I would say he is on the field at least half of the games on his schedule.
This picture kind of makes me laugh...it appears he is really giving this kid a lecture. I can assure you he was probably just saying...have a good game!
There were actually lots of these...supposedly it was going to be a good game. Not the case...it was 36-0.
Walking off the field at half time, and he is laughing because one of my best friends from high school is screaming...Matt, Matt, Matt...bless her heart, she has never been quite! And thankfully, we found each other at half time and got to visit the second half. Brooke, I know you are reading...it was so good to see you, and I loved getting to catch up. We have got to do it again soon!
Getting ready for the second half...
When the game is 36-0, the clock runs and just like that, the game is over. And off the refs "run" to the getaway car! Cooper didn't understand why he wouldn't stop and talk to him.
Last Friday was actually Pop Pop's birthday so when we got home, we opened a few presents. And since Pop Pop was opening his, Cooper thought he should open his too. That boy loves a present!
Aunt Kelly got Cooper this really fun snow ball game...the kids thought it was so funny!
Just like that and all in one day there was Grandparent's Day, football, and birthdays...and to think, that was just the beginning of the fun for the weekend!
