Easter...

Just the four of us are celebrating Easter today...we've enjoyed treats from the Easter bunny, attempted to take a few pictures, went to church, had lunch, got ice cream from Sonic, and now we are having some "rest" time...a good day to be together and celebrate HE is ALIVE!

The picture is kind of dark, but I love Cooper's expression...he makes the BEST faces!

I was thrilled she picked out this dress for Easter...I'm sure this will be our last year in dresses like this...makes me sad because I LOVE them!

Cooper would only take pictures in the top of a tree...he has for sure hit the "hard" phase when it comes to picture taking.  And then...the pictures are dark...o'well...hopefully I can get Christy to take some for me in these outfits.

Easter Saturday...

Today we went to the Flowood Easter egg hunt, had lunch, we all took a long and much needed nap, and then we ended the day with dying eggs (one of my least favorite projects...just makes such a mess, but I do it...would hate to deprive the children).

Happy Easter from our funny Cooper...

And Happy Easter from our sassy Anna Lauren...

Looking through the eggs to make sure we didn't get a "prize" egg...we didn't...

All she really wanted to do...get her face painted!

Driving the fire truck...Cooper begged to go look at the fire truck but of course, wouldn't get in it once we got there...

Yes, this kid drank the dye right off the spoon...you have to watch his every move!

The "fun" traditions are done and tomorrow we look forward to celebrating the REAL meaning of Easter.  Anna Lauren made a cross out of barrettes tonight and it was so sweet to listen to her version of the Easter story...she knows the story, which really makes her parents proud.  We love the fun, but we want them to know and understand the true meaning.

Good Friday...

The kids and I were off work and out of school yesterday so we headed to Brookhaven for the day to celebrate Easter with my family.  We had a fun filled day...Easter parade at the nursing home, we met our new cousin, Seth, and played at Aunt Carrie's and Uncle Bill's "fun" house, went to an Easter egg hunt at the nursing home, and had dinner at Nanna's house.  The kids had a blast and were asleep before I got to the interstate to come home...fun, fun day!

Anna Lauren and Nanny...the nursing home residents all wore hats and had a parade through the hallways of the nursing home...their families bought/decorated hats for them to wear.  Since Nanny has been in the nursing home, I've realized it is like having a little kid in daycare/school.  My mom is always having to do something for her (example...make hat) and go to all kind of parties.  The great thing is the "entertainment" keeps Nanny happy...she LOVES all of it!

Cooper didn't want to sit in Nanny's lap and take a picture...he just wanted to touch the bunny on the back of her hat.

Funny the things Nanny comes up with...she told Uncle Terry she was going to have a bird on her hat.  He called mom and sure enough, she had a bird on her hat!

Nanny, Grandmother, and Anna Lauren...

Anna Lauren loves grandmother because...you can push her!  Anna Lauren pushed her in the parade...and...grandmother tipped her $2!

Ashton and Nanny...

Back at the nursing home and Cooper is ready to hunt eggs...

It was a beautiful day for the kids to hung eggs and the grandmothers to be outside...

Nanny and Cooper playing peek-a-boo with his basket...he is such a funny kid!

Showing the grandmothers all they got...Cooper, Ashton, John, Drew in Nanny's lap, David, Anna Lauren, and Bently...

At first, Drew was the only one that would get near the Easter bunny...

John, Drew, and David...

Anna Lauren and Bently FINALLY got brave enough to get near the bunny...

Getting a little braver...

Jake got Cooper to get somewhat close to the bunny...

Honestly, I don't think he realized he sat down in front the bunny...he was not a fan...
