Championship Game...

After the big win Saturday night, we could not have been more ready for Sunday's championship game.  We knew it was not going to be an easy game for the Lady Majors, but we were NOT prepared for what would actually happen...

Anna Lauren made posters for the championship game...

We do love them all, but I think it is safe to say #2 may just be our favorite!

After church, we headed straight to Millsaps for the BIG game. It was not a big deal to Sam, but I was thrilled to see her start what was potentially the last game she would play.

Anna Lauren chickened out of holding the signs she made (I knew she would), but Cooper wanted to hold them.

Until...he fell sound asleep.  A couple minutes into the game, he fell asleep and slept the 1st half in my lap and the 2nd half in Matt's lap.  He was obviously tired because the gym is loud in general not to mention the band that was there playing.

We knew our chances of winning were slim when Sam was the leading scorer at half time...and...the team only had 12 points. Rhodes had the game of their lives and couldn't miss a shot if they tried. Not to mention they totally shut down our two girls that score all our points.  I'm telling you...we were not prepared.  They had beaten Rhodes twice during regular season and Sam was not even playing.

This picture is pretty heart breaking...they have all realized it's over...

Tears filled my eyes as I watched these three seniors.  As someone told Sam, it didn't end the way they wanted, but they sure did have one heck of a good season.  Rhodes won the championship and had one night of fun...these girls had 4 months of fun as they won game after game all season long.

It's not only about basketball...these are friendships and memories that will last a lifetime.

On a happy note, Miah and Velvet got all tournament...

They tried to be tough...but honestly, losing hurt and there were some tears shed.

Sam asked us to go with the team/parents to dinner after the game...if nothing else, this little man knew just what to do to make her smile.  And not only Sam, he made his rounds and loved on all the girls.

It was a fun season to be a part of Lady Majors basketball...we will for sure look forward to basketball season next year!
