WSA Nationals...

The weekend before Spring Break we headed to New Orleans for WSA Nationals, which was a two day cheer competition.  WSA is a fairly large competition with some really competitive teams.  We knew going into the competition that they were going to have to do their absolute best to hang with the other squads in their division. Neither day did they hit a perfect routine and walked away 4th out 4 teams.  Maybe not their best weekend, but even with a couple deductions they still looked pretty good and had fun.  At this age, Matt and I just want it to be fun for Anna Lauren!

6:15 AM and ready for day 1 of competition...we had to be there so early both mornings.  It amazes me how well these kids do so early in the morning.

Like I said, you would never know it was so early...I can assure you they are not this happy on school mornings!

In Atlanta the judges suggested they add a little "creativity" to their routine.  This is one of the changes...she and Ava start off holding hands...it's cute!

This was the first weekend in 3 years that Anna Lauren smiled throughout the routine...she is always so focused.  Made me smile seeing her smile on stage!

Ava on the other hand, she smiles throughout the whole routine all the time...even in the air!

I always look at the coaches during their routine...I can tell how the girls are doing by their reactions.

Day 2...coming out all smiles ready to go...

One of my favorites...she is totally in the air!

And now we are preparing for our last competition...Destin in April.  Hard to believe competition season is almost over.  And then, we'll start all over...it's a year-round sport.
