Quick Beach Vacation...

Cooper graduated from preschool on Thursday, May 26th and as soon as it was over we jumped in the car and headed to Orange Beach for a quick little 3 night vacation.

I don't have any pictures from Thursday because it was kind of like vacation gone bad.  We checked in, put on our swimsuits, and we headed to the beach.  Not 10 minutes later Anna Lauren had been attacked by jelly fish...her arms and legs were covered and she was MISERABLE.  We tried several things and thankfully the pharmacist suggested spraying vinegar on her.  That did the trick, and she finally got some relief.  After all the chaos, we grabbed some pizza for dinner and went grocery shopping.

Friday morning at the beach...hoping for a better day!  And thankfully, she was brave enough to go back in the water as long as we had vinegar in the beach bag.  And...when did she start looking like a teenager...she is only 9, but she looks so old to me in this picture.

So much fun watching these two play at the beach...

Anna Lauren and I went for a walk down the beach and found her friend Tallie.  So...Tallie and her sister came and swam with us for a little while.  And then Anna Lauren went to the movie with them that afternoon.

This little boy got really cold in the pool and took an early morning break...but after he got warm and had something to eat, he was back at it again.

I know...I know...his swimsuit/shirt don't match.  What happens when he/Matt go to the condo alone.  They are boys...they do not care!

Friday night we ate spaghetti at the condo and then we headed out for a little fun a the Trak.  I just love that he still wants to hold our hand...I'm thinking this is quickly coming to an end (insert tear).

He had played hard and then taken a really long nap so he was SO happy and had the best time!

Watch out...she is tall enough to drive her own car...

Nanna was nervous...she didn't think Anna Lauren could do it, but she showed us she could.

Then we found Cooper size go karts...he got to drive his own car!

Anna Lauren was too big for most of the fair type rides but Cooper rode them and loved all of them...smiles for days!

It's always so nice to be able to get away from the normal routine and just enjoy a little fun together...thankful for vacation time!

Anna Lauren hiding so they cannot squirt her...

One of the go kart tracks both kids had to ride with an adult so Cooper rode with me.  I so wish I had a video of him that I could keep forever.  The entire time he was smiling from ear to ear saying this is fun, mommy!  Then he fussed at me for letting off the gas...I was to never pick my foot up...the gas should stay all the way down at all times (that comes from his Daddy...insert eye roll here).  And then when we finished he said, thank you mommy...that was so fun! Love him and his sweet self big time!!!

And we ended our fun night by them getting cotton candy...out of machine.  It was so cool...it was like a vending machine and you got to watch your cotton candy be made.

They enjoyed their cotton candy.  Matt, Nanna, and I enjoyed a blizzard from Dairy Queen instead.

We woke up to a beautiful day at the beach on Saturday...

I think this boy had the most fun riding the waves...

She was trying to plan a para-sail adventure for her and Matt.  She won...they went...they both loved it!  They had so much fun that they didn't even take a picture for me.

Nanna was perfectly happy at the beach under the umbrella...

After a fun day at the beach and pool, we had Shrimp Basket (our favorite) for dinner.  Then we got flashlights and went out to the beach at night to search for crabs.  We got one that spent the night on our balcony.  But...we let him go Sunday morning.

Enjoying our last day on the beach...

We met a group of young engineers who were at the beach for the weekend, and my kids thought their hole was pretty impressive. They were super sweet and let the kids play/dig in their hole...

Cooper will talk to anyone so he of course made friends with the group of engineers and before I knew it, he was in their flamingo float.

No trouble spotting Cooper (I mean the flamingo)...

After several hours of beach fun, we loaded up and headed to Lambert's for a late lunch/early dinner on our way out of town. And this is what happens when Anna Lauren has the camera.

Another one of Anna Lauren's pictures...ha ha!  She was entertained while we waited.

This is a sign of a great vacation...he fell asleep in my lap before we could make it out of Lambert's.  Then he slept for 3 hours on the way home.  We all had fun super quick vacation!
