Cougar Character of the Month...

Matt and I were very surprised last week when Anna Lauren came home with a letter stating she had been chosen as the Cougar Character of the Month for November.  Each week the counselor teaches them about a different character and then chooses one student from each class to be the Character of the Month.  Anna Lauren has 26 kids in her room so to be chosen was very impressive considering there are only 9 school months, which means, only 9 out of 26 are chosen throughout the year.  The crazy part is her character was "cooperation"...really?  Where is that at home?  Obviously we are doing something right...at least she behaves everywhere but home (for the most part).  Needless to say, we are super proud of her!

Today was her "big" day...they took the kids that got Character of the Month to Chick-fil-A for lunch, gave them a cup full of coupons for places around town, and a sticker.  If you cannot tell by the picture, she is pretty proud of herself and enjoyed her "special" day!

And a couple other things I don't want to forget (you know...this is my "baby" book).  Last week she threw her back handspring on the floor at the gym all by herself.  She started speech at school this week...she will go twice a week (her main issue is "r").  So thankful her teacher recognized she needed help, and she was THRILLED about going to speech.  It is fun and everyone wants to go...such a relief for us...we didn't want her to not want to go / feel singled out in her room.  Whatever...one of one attention...she thinks it is AWESOME!
