Random...Random...Random...

So...here goes one random post and an update on the life at the Calvert house.

We spent Thanksgiving with Matt's family in Gulfport.  The Sunday before Thanksgiving Matt's grandmother passed away so Thanksgiving was for sure a happy/sad day.  The "happy" was that it brought everyone together, and we got to see his cousins that we typically would not have seen.  The "sad" was that Maw Maw wasn't there with us.  But...what an amazing life she had and she is now no longer suffering.

Hard to believe but this is the only picture we took while we were there...

Last week Anna Lauren got her cheerleader "gear"...can we say she is an OUTLAW?  Her first competition is Saturday, and we  cannot wait.  First we have to make it through the four practices this week...needless to say, we are spending some extra "last minute" hours at the gym to prepare.

And last but not least...the biggest news at our house.  Just one month shy of 10 years, Matt resigned from the Mississippi State Department of Health three weeks ago and started at Mississippi Department of Information Technology Services (ITS) today.  An opportunity with ITS presented itself and Matt just couldn't say no.  Although he LOVED his job at the health department, he thinks he has made a decision that will benefit him "long term".  He had a good first day and is excited about this new opportunity!  His one complaint...so weird...I'm use to 100 e-mails a day, and I got like two.  He knows with time, he'll be right back where he was, but he will have to remain patient through the transition period.

Our December calendar is jam packed full so I know there will be many posts throughout this month.  I hope I can keep up...this time of the year is always so hard for me.  Just not enough hours in the day to get everything done...next on my list is Christmas cards, then wrapping, parties, etc.  Tis the Season...I try to enjoy, but really...just not my favorite time of the year!
