Kindergarten Beach Day...

Friday we celebrated the end of kindergarten with "Beach Day" at Highland Bluff Elementary.  This year I had my first experience at being room mom, and I must say, I enjoyed getting to help Anna Lauren's teachers and be involved in all the "special" activities throughout the year.  My original thought for beach day was to fix each child their lunch in a sand bucket, but after the teacher and I talked, we decided a candy bar instead because the kids wanted pizza for lunch (surprise).

Our "rolling" candy bar...

Since it was beach day, I couldn't resist the sand...

I think it turned out so cute and the kids seemed to really like coming through the line and filling their bags with candy!

I forgot to take a picture of all the bags once they were done, but they filled a brown bag with candy and we stapled them with cute tent cards...from beach balls to palm trees...the tent cards were all different.

One mom went all out on the "beach" dessert...

You've read about "Daniel" before...I'm telling you, every time I looked up Friday he was beside Anna Lauren.  Whew...glad we three days away from summer.  Maybe he'll forget about her this summer!

And the best part of the day...the inflatable water slides!

This is the "it's cold" face...the water was freezing, but they still had so much fun!

As you can see, McCarley was not having her picture made Friday...

One of her many faces...

For some reason, her eyes were shut in all her sliding pictures...

Popsicle time!

Of course Daniel found the mud!  Will hold onto this one for his senior year of high school!

And we ended the day with a fun happy from Anna Lauren's teachers...

Mother's Day...

And because of these two little ones, I am a mother!  Let's just be honest, it's a hard job being "mommy", but I wouldn't trade it for the world!  I enjoy making memories with them not just today but everyday!

As if you cannot tell, Cooper is REALLY into his bike right now...only way we got him to take a picture this morning.

Flowood Family Festival...

Tonight we went with the Bounds family to the Flowood Family Festival.  It was a super fun night of perfect weather, inflatables, tatoos, face painting, sno cones, petting zoo, and pony rides!

Love Notes...

Not sure how to write this post...it is one of those things that I want to remember but not one of those things that I am proud of or really want to brag about...Anna Lauren is only 6!

So...this is Anna Lauren and Daniel.  From the beginning of school, Anna Lauren has told me that Daniel liked her and always wants to hug her, etc.  She likes Daniel but was not really into him "liking" her and especially him hugging her...or so she says, and I'm going to believe her because that is what I want to believe!

This morning I arrive at Muffins With Mom and Daniel's mom told me she caught Daniel last Friday night writing a "love note" to Anna Lauren.  We both kind of blew it off.  We get into the classroom and Ms. Wells tells us that she had to take a note from him this week that he was writing to Anna Lauren.

Today...this comes home in her backpack...OH MY GOODNESS!

We didn't make a big deal out of it...just filed it away in her kindergarten file and can hopefully laugh about this one day when they are in high school.

Muffins With Mom...

This morning I was very very thankful that our kids go to school across the street from one another...because...they both had muffins with mom at 8 AM.  Since Cooper doesn't really "get it" yet, I had muffins with him from 7:15 to 7:45 and then I went to Anna Lauren's school for her breakfast at 8:00.  Cooper seemed happy this afternoon so I think he was just fine that I wasn't there with all the other mommies, but I did break my heart I couldn't be in two places at once.

I will say both teachers hosted a really nice breakfast, and I walked away feeling so loved this Mother's Day and so confident both of my kids are in school exactly where they need to be.  Love both of their schools!

For some reason, I thought it would be a good idea to take pictures before we left home this morning because I knew the breakfast would be a little crazy, and I may not get a picture.  As you can see, Cooper did not think taking pictures was a good idea.

The best it gets with Cooper!

This one on the other hand, will pretty much take a picture anytime...

I mean REALLY!

Oh...now that we quit trying to take his picture he starts smiling...

Look at this face...our hands are FULL...as if they were not already with Anna Lauren!

If you have the camera out, she has to pose and prefers to just take pictures by herself...she is something!

Cooper's school...all the gifts!

Muffins and juice...

One more attempt to take a picture...FORGET IT!

Now I've made it to breakfast with Anna Lauren...

Anna Lauren and Daniel...more to come on him later...

Anna Lauren and Ms. Currie...

Anna Lauren, Ms. Wells, and McCarley...

All my treats from the day...

M&Ms from Cooper...

Muffin mix from Anna Lauren...

Purse from Anna Lauren...I asked her about cooking being something I really like to do because I DO NOT like to cook.  She said, well, you cook every night.  I do cook dinner, but I don't like it!

Teacher Appreciation Week...

This week was teacher appreciation week...Anna Lauren's school sent home a note with suggestions you could do each day of the week for teacher appreciation, and Cooper's school just had a sign saying it was teacher appreciation week.

For Cooper's teachers, we just sent donuts on Monday with a cute tag that said "donut you know you are the best teacher".

For Anna Lauren's teachers, we sent donuts on Monday with the same cute tag.  And on Wednesday, we sent them a gift...I figured they may like one nice thing rather than 5 little things.

I helped her spell, but I let Anna Lauren write what she wanted and didn't give her any suggestions.

This one made me laugh, but like I said, I let her write what she wanted to write on the card.

And let me just say, it was easy to send these two ladies a little happy this week because we do appreciate them oh so much...they have been FANTASTIC this year!
