Vacation...Travel Day

We told the kids on Friday night we were going on a cruise vacation, and we left Saturday morning.  Our first vacation day was actually just a "travel" day.  We drove to Galveston, Texas on Saturday and spent the night at a hotel so we would be there bright and early to board the ship Sunday.

Love, love, love a cruise vacation...this is all we took!  When we go to the beach for a week, you cannot see out of the back windshield...a cruise is so much easier in my opinion!

We were ready to hit the road and start our vacation...

We stayed Saturday night in a small little town just outside Galveston so we went to dinner at the Boardwalk, which was recommended by the lady at the hotel.

Riding the water taxi to dinner...

We ate at the Aquarium, which wasn't quite as cool as the lady at the hotel made it sound.  But anyway, we still had fun!

The restaurant was full of fish tanks...

After dinner the kids played a couple games.  They debated riding some rides...but...just to get tickets for the rides was going to be an hour wait so they said forget it.

Cooper did not pop a balloon/win a prize so he was crying.  Anna Lauren told him she would do a game and win him a prize.  She challenged the guy to guess her weight...he said, 73...she weighed 82.

Such a good big sister...she won Cooper this alien, and he was BEYOND excited!

We got back to the hotel and settled into bed...I pulled out my two new books and declared we were officially on VACATION!
