Our Movie Star...

Just when we thought football season was over, Matt got a call to play a role as a SEC referee in the movie, It's Time, telling the story of Chucky Mullins.  The movie is expected to be released Fall 2017.  He spent 4 days the week before Thanksgiving at Memorial Stadium filming the college football scenes for the movie.

They had to go to "wardrobe" but not hair and make-up.  Chucky was injured during a game against Vanderbilt in 1989, hence the white knickers and stir-ups.

They started bright and early...like had to be there at 5:30 AM and most days didn't leave before 5:30 PM.

They were all smiles and excited this first morning...as the week went on, they quickly realized the days were SUPER long and there was lots of hurry up and wait...

Football actors warming up to begin filming scenes from Ole Miss versus Vanderbilt...

You will be able to pick Matt out in the movie...he got picked to be the white hat.  All the other referees wear a black hat.

Hard at work...or should we say...hey referee...you stand there and don't move may be more like it...ha ha!

They did take a lunch break each day and obviously we are ALL way too addicted to our phones.

More waiting, more waiting, and more waiting as they set up the scene, move the camera, move the actors, etc.

Matt would be the one taking pictures of the camera...he was impressed!

Getting ready to film scenes of Vanderbilt versus Florida...

#44 is Brad Gaines, who is the Vanderbilt player Chucky hit that caused his injury...

Getting setup to begin day two of filming...

Billy Brewer was the Ole Miss football coach when Chucky was injured and came to film a few scenes.  Billy will be an assistant Ole Miss coach in the movie.  The guy in all black is the director.

Still smiling the morning of day 2...it was a great experience but this smile faded as the week went along.  It was a LONG week!!!

Matt thought the cars from "1989" were funny...sadly, we rode in them.  As a matter of fact, my Nanny had one just like that blue one.

Here they go with day 3...this is the real actor playing Chucky Mullins.  Matt said he was a super nice guy.

And this is the actor playing Brad Gaines.  He is on the Bold and the Beautiful.  He had a bit of "I'm better than you" attitude, and he hurt his toe.  Matt found that quite comical and was like really...a hurt toe, dude?

Just another day of getting it all setup...

Walking through scenes...

Filming the actual hit...this is played by "stunt doubles" not the actors...

Matt said it wasn't so emotional during filming because you watch it over and over and over again...however, when the movie comes out he said this part will be extremely emotional.

Just a little peak into wardrobe...

Homecoming King and Queen...

Filming a scene running out of the locker room...

Their last day of filming...

Re-shooting the hit...

Group shot of the football actors.  Many of them actually played college football and now do filming of football scenes on the side.

The helicopter to film the scene of Chucky being airlifted...

You know...just a little hair and make-up for actor playing Brad Gaines...

It was definitely not a normal work week for Matt, but I think he would say it was an experience he will always remember.  Now we will anxiously await for the movie to come out and hopefully see our "star" on the big screen!!!
